This whole-class assembly will teach the listening audience all about the seven continents of the world. Fun and factual, this assembly provides parts for all of the children, so everyone can feel involved. The audience will learn about: the animals common to each continent; differences between the weather and climate on each continent; top-tourist destinations; population numbers and a brief overview of each continent’s natural geography.

Number of children: Accommodates for a whole class of 30 but can easily be amended to accommodate less or more.

All of the children sit in rows on the floor pretending to be in a classroom. One child stands in front of the class in role as a teacher, and starts to give out imaginary test papers. The teacher calls out the names of the children one-by-one. When each child gets their paper, they are either excited or upset. After giving out 4 or 5 papers...

Sean? Where is Sean?

All the children turn to look at Sean.

Teacher

Sean, well done. You got three AAAs.

All

(shocked) Sean got three AAAs?!

Sean

(excitedly) I got three AAAs!

All of the children now stand up and shout to the audience...
