Dinosaurs Class Assembly - Extract

Extract 1

Narrator

A dinosaur is an extinct reptile that started life over 200 million years ago!

Brontosaurus

No wonder I'm tired.

Narrator

This was at a time when the earth was warmer, the seasons milder, the sea higher, and there wasn't any polar ice.

Triceratops

I'm glad about the ice. I've heard those polar bears can be pretty vicious.

Narrator

The Age of Dinosaurs was known as the Mesozoic era. It is divided into three periods: the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous.

Narrator

This era also saw the evolution of many other life forms, including birds, mammals, and flowering plants.

Narrator

The end of the Mesozoic era was marked by a mass extinction event, which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs and many other species.

Pterodactyl

(Gasps) What did they say? What's extinction mean?

Stegosaurus

It's not good. Not good at all.

All

Tell us!

Stegosaurus

Erm. (Does the finger across the throat mime).

T-Rex

What's that supposed to mean?

Triceratops

I think it means we are doomed. (Being all dramatic) Doomed, I tell you!

Pterodactyl

Let's go and find somewhere safe to hide from the extinction.
