"It's fine if you let the adults do it and follow the correct firework code!" dad reassured them as he brought the container of fireworks from the garage. The container was sealed well and he had to use a pair of scissors to open it. Ringo, Lou's dog, wanted to come out and was hovering by the kitchen door as they all got their coats and gloves and scarves. Mum picked Ringo up and took him into the house where he would be safe. "Not safe for you, little fella!" she said as she stroked his fur. Lou couldn't believe they were actually going to have fireworks in their back garden! This was the first time and he knew if they all behaved, dad would do this every year.
